The last moments of light capture this old shed in the Kawarau gorge, not too far from Cromwell in the South Island, moments later the shadows consumed everything. This photo is special for me, as it was the very first photograph entered into a competition, it was in the "Places" category for the "Wilderness Photographer of the year 2025" for a publication called "Great Walks". It was open to both Australian & New Zealand photographers, but photographs could be from anywhere around the globe. My photo made it as a finalist, but that was as far as it got. I was pleased to know that at least my vision was going in the right direction. None of the winning photographs were taken in New Zealand unfortunately, which I thought was a shame.
